The red R.A.T. TE Gaming Mouse from Mad Catz features nine programmable buttons and features a laser Doppler sensor that allows tracking speeds up to 8200 DPI. To provide accuracy in different gaming situations such as on a black surface, the sensor automatically adjusts from a range of 100 to 8200 DPI. It also offers a motion detect rate of 236.22 in/s and has a max acceleration of 50G. This mouse connects to your PC or Mac via an integrated USB cable, which is equipped with a gold-plated USB connector. In addition, customizable attributes such as lift-off height calibration and an adjustable palm rest have been added for creating a mouse suitable to your individual style of game-play.
There are nine programmable buttons over three modes that can accommodate up to 27 user-definable commands to execute macros or key commands. The mouse lights up in the colors red, blue, and purple for identifying which mode you are in. To help you hit your target the first time, this mouse features the Precision Aim button, which quickly adjusts the sensitivity of the mouse to steady your aim. Using the downloadable software with a drag-and-drop interface, your commands are saved into different profiles that can be set to different games. This allows you to create unique profiles for character builds such as sniper, tank, and healer. Furthermore, the right and left buttons are designed for five million cycles with OMRON switches.

- The lift-off height is a measurement of distance between a mouse and gaming surface. Lifting and repositioning a mouse while gaming can interfere with tracking on the z-axis. The height at which a mouse still tracks after removal from the gaming surface is a matter of personal preference. Precise sensor calibration offers the freedom to tweak the lift-off height to suit your individual style of game-play. Optimized for both lift-off speed and detection when landing, you can adjust lift-off distance from 0.01" to 0.04".
- Simplified Target Tracking
- Precision Aim mode offers you on-the-fly cursor sensitivity adjustments. After an uncomplicated setup process within the downloadable programming software, one press of the oversize easy-to-actuate Precision Aim button steadies your aim.
- 27 Custom Commands
- An intuitive drag-and-drop software interface delivers control over each of the programmable buttons and allows the creation of an unlimited number of profiles. Each profile accommodates 27 user-definable commands via nine programmable buttons over three modes. Within each profile, you can define DPI settings, map media functions, designate Precision Aim sensitivity, assign simple or complex macro timing, and set key bindings.
